Propaganda Poster

For my piece, I went in a completely different direction than I thought I would go, which is cool I guess. Basically I just looked up propaganda posters, and I saw a Russian (?) one I liked, and I, of course didn’t understand any of what it was saying, so that’s kind of where I got my inspiration. Anyways, the piece basically uses a French idiom that says “leave your grain of salt, (an unwanted opinion) I’m an artist, I make masterpieces.” So this piece is about making critiques, and like interpreting art, and how I feel sometimes, some critiques are useless and unneeded. Maybe, even how you don’t need to understand something or even need to critique. Perhaps it could also be saying that we, as artists, need to critique more and better. I guess the meaning is up to you, to a certain point. (:
